Nosara is a beautiful little surf town along the Pacific coast of Costa Rica. There are so many amazing, healthy restaurants with fresh local food that it’s hard to pick favorites! But here are some of our favorite places to eat in Nosara Costa Rica.

“Nosara” is actually the little town inland, where most tourists never step foot. What tourists are generally referring to when they say “Nosara” is Playa Guiones and Playa Pelada – two small beach communities with restaurants, bars, boutique hotels, and home rentals. This area is the focus of our favorite restaurants list:
1. La Luna: this is our favorite restaurant in the world! We dream about their breakfast menu year-round and can’t wait to get back. Their diverse options offer something for everyone. We also love their dinner menu and is a spectacular place to watch the sunset over the water. The view cannot be beat anywhere in Nosara!
2. Destiny Cafe: we absolutely love this little restaurant. They have incredible smoothie bowls and lattes. Don’t miss the Cloud coffee! The foam is smooth and so creamy. Their dinner menu is just as good, with super tasty meals and drinks. Check out the cucumber margarita!
3. Gilded Iguana Restaurant: this hotel restaurant has amazing open-air seating in their lush garden and is a spot near and dear to our hearts. We got married there! The breakfast, lunch and dinner menus are all incredible, and their bartenders are the best in town. We highly recommend you check out multiple meals here during your Nosara stay.
4. Beach Dog Cafe: this cafe is a little gem, a bit off the main road, tucked around a corner. It is a great spot to grab breakfast, lunch or dinner, with a fun menu and live music after sunset – a really fun place to relax with friends. You’ll often see howler monkeys hanging out in the trees nearby. 🙂
5. Blue Zone Brewery: this is the place in Nosara to find great Costa Rican beer, along with an extensive cocktail menu and great tacos. Highly recommend the avocado tacos! My mouth is watering just thinking about them. We loved the atmosphere here.
6. Go Juice: this food truck juice bar is in the center of Playa Guiones, across from the Gilded Iguana. They serve up some incredible acai bowls and smoothies! Our favorite has natural peanut butter as a topping and is a great snack to carry down to the beach.
7. Luv Burger: this restaurant serves vegan burgers with gluten-free buns. Our favorite is the Holy Guacamole burger. They also have kombuchas and gluten-free pizzas. We love their quaint and lush outdoor patio.
8. 10 Pies: this pizza joint is within easy walking distance to most stays and has free wifi. It is a family-friendly environment and has incredibly friendly staff.
9. Al Chile: this Mexican restaurant has a great menu with lots of options. Their picnic table seats up front are great for larger groups, as well as a more intimate dining option deeper into their open-air restaurant.
